The low-fee way to sell tech.

List your gaming PC, components, or electronics for free. Pay one simple commission only when something sells, starting at 0% for early adopters and 5% for individuals.

What it costs to sell.

There are no listing fees, no monthly subscriptions, and nothing charged to edit or relist. Computey takes a single commission when an order completes, and payment processing is already included in that rate.

Seller commission by account type
Seller type Commission What's included
Early AdopterFirst 50 verified accounts 0% Lifetime zero commission. The standard payment processing fee still applies at payout. Non-transferable, and forfeited if the account is closed or suspended.
Individual seller 5% Payment processing and buyer/seller protection included in the rate.
Business seller 7% Payment processing and buyer/seller protection included. Businesses must accurately identify as a business seller during onboarding.

Full fee terms are set out in Computey's Payments & Payouts Policy. Computey does not currently charge buyer fees.

What happens after you make a sale.

Every order runs through the same protected process, whether the buyer is round the corner or across the EU.

  1. Order placed

The buyer checks out on Computey. Funds are held in escrow until the order is confirmed.

  2. Dispatch

You dispatch the order and add tracking information through the platform.

  3. Delivery

Once the carrier marks the order delivered, a 3-day confirmation window opens.

  4. Confirmation

The buyer confirms receipt or raises a dispute. If neither happens, funds release automatically.

  5. Payout

Computey sends your payout to your bank account, less applicable fees.

If a dispute is raised, escrow funds stay held while Computey reviews the evidence and decides the outcome. Buyer-seller messages are encrypted end to end, so order details stay between you and the buyer.

Before you apply.

The questions we hear most from prospective sellers.

Account & eligibility

Do I need a buyer account before I can sell?

Yes. Every seller must hold a verified buyer account in good standing, then complete seller onboarding and submit the application below.

What do I need to provide to become a seller?

You'll need a business or trading name, shop description, business address, and store policies. Business registration and VAT numbers apply where relevant. You must also complete payout setup to receive payouts. The application form below covers the details required at this stage.

Am I an individual or a business seller?

If you're listing your own personal hardware, you're an individual seller (5% commission). UK businesses and traders selling as part of a trade must accurately identify as a business seller during onboarding (7% commission). Misrepresenting your status is a material breach of the Terms of Service.

What happens when I submit the application?

As soon as you submit the seller application form below, you're taken straight to the seller dashboard with seller access. There's no separate waiting period for application acceptance — you continue onboarding from there: set up payouts, set your storefront policies, and create your first listing.

How long does payout setup take?

Seller dashboard access is immediate once you submit the application. Payout setup is the step that may take additional time, depending on your account type and identity checks. Payouts are not released until payout setup completes successfully.

What can I sell on Computey?

Technology and electronics: PCs, components, laptops, peripherals, consoles, streaming gear, and related accessories within the platform's defined categories. Items must be accurately described, legal to sell, and in the condition you state. See the categories above and Computey's Prohibited Items Policy for what is not permitted.

What can't I list on Computey?

Stolen or counterfeit goods, items with removed serial numbers, undisclosed region- or carrier-locked devices, non-technology items, hazardous materials, export-controlled goods, and anything infringing third-party rights or requiring a licence you don't hold. The list in Computey's Prohibited Items Policy is illustrative, not exhaustive → Computey may remove listings that are unsuitable even if not specifically listed.

Money & payouts

How much does it cost to sell?

There are no listing fees, listing limits, editing fees, subscriptions, or seller lock-in fees. Computey charges commission only when a sale completes: 0% for the first 50 verified early adopter accounts → a lifetime benefit while the account remains in good standing (the standard processing fee still applies at payout), 5% for individual sellers, and 7% for business sellers — inclusive of payment processing where commission applies. See Computey's Payments & Payouts Policy for full fee terms.

How and when do I get paid?

When a buyer confirms receipt, or the 3-day confirmation window after delivery closes without a dispute, Computey sends your payout within 2 working days, less applicable fees. Transaction proceeds are held in escrow until then. See Computey's Payments & Payouts Policy.

What happens if a buyer raises a dispute?

Escrow funds stay on hold while Computey reviews evidence from both parties and determines an outcome under Computey's Dispute & Returns Policy. Computey mediates disputes and releases the funds. Computey is a marketplace intermediary: the sale contract is between you and the buyer, and Computey does not take title to or possession of goods at any point.

Am I responsible for tax and legal compliance?

Yes. You are solely responsible for complying with applicable law, including consumer protection, product safety, VAT, and tax on sales made through the platform. Computey does not provide legal or tax advice. See Section 5.8 of the Terms of Service.

Orders, listings & trust

When do I need to dispatch an order?

Within 3 working days of order confirmation. Mark the order as dispatched through the platform when you hand it to a carrier, or notify the buyer when an item is ready for local collection. For seller-fulfilled shipping, provide valid tracking through the platform within the same window.

How does shipping work?

You choose a delivery method when listing: integrated shipping via the Computey platform, seller-fulfilled shipping with your own carrier, or local collection. You're responsible for safe dispatch, accurate weight and dimensions for integrated labels, and providing tracking where required. Computey is not a carrier and does not take possession of items.

What is Post-Sale Evidence and should I submit it?

Optional photos or video showing the item's condition and packaging, submitted within 7 Working Days of the sale. You can start before you dispatch. It is not required, but if a buyer raises a dispute, valid Post-Sale Evidence can help show the item matched its listing when it left you. See Computey's Dispute & Returns Policy.

What must each listing include?

At minimum: an accurate title, correct category, condition grade, description of specs and any defects, brand, at least one photograph of the actual item being sold, price, stock quantity, and a delivery method. Stock images are not permitted unless the item is sealed, unused, and clearly described as such.

What condition grade should I use?

Every listing needs a Condition Grade from New, Like New, Used – Good, Used – Acceptable, Refurbished, or For Parts – Not Working, as defined in Computey's Condition Grading Standards. The grade must reflect the item's actual condition. Computey may reclassify a listing where the evidence does not match.

Can I set my own prices?

Yes. You control the price on each listing.

Can I edit or remove listings?

Yes. You can update or end listings from your seller dashboard at any time. There are no listing limits or editing fees.

Can I list more than one item?

Yes. There are no listing limits on the platform.

How do returns work for my sales?

You set and publish your own return and warranty policy on your storefront before selling. Business sellers transacting with consumers must meet minimum statutory requirements under English law, including 14-day cancellation rights for distance sales. Private individual sellers are not subject to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, but goods must still match their description. Eligible issues during the confirmation window may be handled through the platform's dispute process under Computey's Dispute & Returns Policy. Change-of-mind returns are governed by your published policy, not by Computey's dispute process.

How do I communicate with buyers?

Through the platform's messaging system on each order. Messages are encrypted before storage. How message data is handled is explained in the Privacy Policy.

How do seller reviews work?

Verified buyers may leave a review within 7 days of delivery or collection confirmation. If no review is submitted in that window, the platform may publish a neutral automated review. You can submit one written response to each buyer-written review; automated reviews cannot be replied to. Full rules are in Section 9 of the Terms of Service.
